Old head can be the starting place for some of Mayo’s most scenic drives, travel south to Connemara, north to Achill via Westport and Newport, or to Ballycastle and the Ceide Fields, via Castlebar or if you fancy parking the car at Roonagh Pier, go West to Clare Island or Inishturk.
